Fanduel Blackjack

iGaming numbers released last week showed steady overall growth and Pennsylvania players' preference for table games, a bit of a deviation in the world of online gaming. Table games attracted $274 million in wagers compared to $192 million for slots.

FanDuel Casino turned heads in January. It took $84.7 million in table games wagers. The amount is impressive by any measure, but FanDuel Casino did it in just eight days.

Blackjack is the most popular table game at most online casinos. FanDuel seems to have taken note, and offers three different variations of blackjack. This is actually less than most online casinos. But most people tend to stick to a couple of variations (even when there are a dozen or more options), so it isn't necessarily a negative.

Prime time to start an online casino

It was a busy time for online casino launches in Pennsylvania since operators wanted to have their products available ahead of Super Bowl LIV on Feb. 2.

On Jan. 24, FanDuel, through a partnership with Valley Forge Casino and Boyd Gaming, launched its online casino. Pennsylvania represents the first state in which the company offers an online casino under the FanDuel brand.

BetAmerica soft-launched its iGaming offering on Jan. 28. The Churchill Downs-operated BetAmerica is affiliated with Presque Isle Downs & Casino in Pennsylvania. Then, BetRivers online casino debuted on Jan. 30 bumping PA's iGaming options to eight.

It's no secret that the Super Bowl is the most popular sporting event for bettors every year. Releasing an online casino during the week leading up to the Big Game is a no-brainer if the product is ready.

Jesse Chemtob, FanDuel's vice president/general manager of casino told PlayPennsylvania:

  1. The FanDuel casino app has a wide variety of games, from BlackJack to slot machines. How can I Use FanDuel? FanDuel has gambling for Daily Fantasy Sports, Sports Betting, Horse Racing, and Casino Games.
  2. Play all the latest legal online Blackjack games at FanDuel Casino! Get your Sign Up Bonus when you join today! If you or someone you know has a gambling problem and wants help, call the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Gambling Disorder Help-line at.

'We saw an opportunity to get out ahead of the Super Bowl knowing we would have a large influx of new and returning sportsbook customers coming to play. We wanted this new product to be there and them to experience FanDuel Casino for the first time. The week we launched was a quiet week from a sports betting perspective so it allowed us to get the soft launch off seamlessly.'

Sportsbook customers translate to casino

The three new online casinos are accessible through already established PA sportsbook apps. Since entering the Pennsylvania market in the summer of 2019, FanDuel online sportsbook has dominated. In January, they were tops in handle ($156 million) and revenue ($8 million.)

FanDuel accounts for about half of all bets placed online in Pennsylvania. Being integrated with the top-performing sportsbook was a big reason for the impressive numbers. Currently, FanDuel Casino is only available via iOS and Android, not desktop.

According to Chemtob, the majority of players at FanDuel Casino were sportsbook customers.

'Obviously, the FanDuel sportsbook customer base in PA is a good one given our position in the market. We are actively talking to the customers within the sportsbook app.'

Blackjack most popular game

FanDuel Casino now offers five table games and twelve slots.

FanDuel Casino table games:

  • Blackjack
  • Roulette
  • European Roulette
  • Blackjack Classic Touch
  • French Roulette

Over eight days, table games generated $85 million in wagers which translated into 31% of the statewide total of table game wagers. In terms of revenue, table games raked in $1.7 million, more than 4.5-times that of online slots at the site. Slot revenue totaled $375,000 for the month at FanDuel.

'Not surprisingly,' said Chemtob, blackjack was the most popular game at FanDuel Casino. He added they experienced 'pretty good' activity on roulette. For slots, Divine Fortune did well in January.

'We are definitely encouraged by the results so far given that we were only live the back half of the month. We were surprised how interested FanDuel sportsbook customers would be in a FanDuel Casino product in Pennsylvania. I think there is some pent-up demand in that market in particular given the limited casino offerings available to players in the state.'

Whats next for FanDuel Casino?

After a scorching start out of the gate, what does FanDuel Casino have in store for an encore?

The PA library still pales in comparison to its New Jersey counterpart. FanDuel has the fewest slot titles of any PA online casino but it didn't stop their rapid rise.

Their two blackjack options is common but the option to play for as little as ten cents per hand is one of its more unique features.

Chemtob commented on what's next:

'We are committed to providing a good product to our sportsbook customers in Pennsylvania. It's obviously our first FanDuel branded casino product and we want to make sure that we are delivering a great experience to our customers. We are happy with the results so far but we are still staying humble and want to add more games and build the product.'

How other online casinos fared

January's revenue report included seven online casinos, including newcomers FanDuel Casino and BetAmerica. It did not include BetRivers.

BetAmerica, which was live for just two days in January, posted low revenue figures. However, like at FanDuel, table games did attract more wagers ($90,273) than slots ($57,493). FanDuel and SugarHouse led the way in table games in January while SugarHouse and Hollywood continued to dominate the online slot scene.

January figures for PA online casino operators:

***FanDuel Online Casino went live in Michigan on January 21, 2021!

FanDuel may have started with Daily Fantasy Sports, but its reach is now far greater. Acquired by international gaming giant Flutter Entertainment in 2018, FanDuel Group has become part of a more expansive portfolio as it continues its ascent in sports betting and online casino. In late January 2021, Michigan joined a roster of eight iGaming/online casinos to go online in the state.

This page will serve as a comprehensive review of FanDuel Casino MI, covering what players will get from its catalogue of games, promotions, rewards.

FanDuel online casino bonus offer

FanDuel Casino's welcome bonus has been consistent across the board, regardless of the state you're playing from.

The welcome bonus consists of a 24 hour – $200 risk-free play. Here's how it works: After creating a FanDuel Casino account and depositing money, bettors receive a 24 hour window to play risk-free. If users are down money at the end of the 24 hour period, a refund in the form of site credits is awarded, up to the maximum of $200. After using the credits once (a 1x rollover requirement), those funds become equivalent to cash, and users can treat it as such in the casino or withdraw if preferred.

The 24 hour risk free window will begin the moment you place your first real money wager in the casino.

Welcome bonus breakdown

FanDuel's welcome bonus is a pretty straightforward offer that doesn't require much explanation. As discussed above, the promotion provides a 24 hour risk-free betting window. After placing your first real money wager, gamble in the casino until your heart is content. If you're down money after 24 hours you will be awarded bonus credits as compensation, up to the $200 max. Keep in mind that the promotion is capped at $200, so if you lose more than that on your first day, there will still only be $200 coming back.

Any site credits received through the promo must be used within seven days or they will expire. You just need to wager the bonus credits 1x in order to officially clear it and make the refund available for withdrawal. And should you finish up after 24 hours? You won't get any additional bonus, but the reward is an expanded bankroll.

Who can play on FanDuel Casino Michigan?

There are just a couple of general requirements that must be met before you can ante up in the FanDuel MI online casino. First, you must be at least 21 years old. The 21+ age requirement is the status quo throughout the casino industry in the United States.

Second, you need to be physically present in the state of Michigan, which legalized iGaming, sports betting and online poker in 2019. To be clear, you don't have to live there – you just have to be inside the state. Driving through, connecting at an airport, vacationing on the lake, it doesn't matter. If you're in Michigan, you can play.

Satisfy both and you're good to go!

Signing up with FanDuel Casino

In states like Pennsylvania, FanDuel casino is available exclusively through a mobile app. However, you can still sign up and create an account from a computer.

Fanduel

In order to get the bonus, you will need to begin the account creation process using the links on this page.

You can also download the FanDuel Sportsbook app through your preferred app store on your mobile device. The FanDuel Casino is currently accessible through the FanDuel Sportsbook app. There's a designated ‘Casino' button at the top and bottom of the app homepage. Once you've loaded the app, select the ‘Join Now' button in the top right corner.

Once on the registration form, FanDuel will ask for some information including name, date of birth, email, a username, security questions, and password. The last four digits of your Social Security Number are also required before you can legally gamble online. That applies for Michigan, and every state with some form of regulated iGaming.

FanDuel Casino MI platforms

Traditionally most regulated online casinos in the United States operate on three primary platforms:

  • Computer/Web browser
  • iOS App
  • Android App

Computer/Browser

Expectations are that FanDuel casino will eventually support each platform for online gaming in the state of Michigan. However, if its operations in other states are any indication, it may take some time to get there.

In Pennsylvania, for example, FanDuel casino currently operates in a mobile-only capacity. While you can sign up from a computer, you cannot play online casino games from one. Instead you must download one of the optimized mobile apps for your iOS or Android device.

Likewise, in New Jersey there is no FanDuel casino website either. Instead, its Garden State online casino actually runs through fellow Flutter Entertainment brand, Betfair.

Again, we do expect browser-based versions of the FanDuel casino to eventually hit the market, but as in other states, it will begin in Michigan with a mobile-only structure.

iOS App

You can easily locate the FanDuel app within the Apple app store. It's listed as FanDuel Sportsbook, which also incorporates the online casino. After opening the app you'll be asked to select the right state. Once live, Michigan will be added to the following list:

After arriving on the FanDuel Michigan Sportsbook app homepage, click one of the designated ‘Casino' buttons located at the top and bottom of the screen to see what games are available.

Android App

Unlike its OS counterpart, Android users must find the FanDuel app at the FanDuel website and click 'download.' This is because Google does not currently allow gambling apps in the Play Store. Until that changes, you will have to navigate to the FanDuel website, allow your phone to download the '.apk' and then install.

Regardless of device, mobile apps will provide customers with access to all essential account functions including the game catalog, support, and of course, banking…

Deposits and Withdrawals

Online casino cashiers generally look very similar, regardless of the state they're in. Therefore, even though FanDuel Casino has not opened in Michigan, we can make some educated guesses as to the methods of payment it will accept for both deposits and withdrawals.

  • Online Banking: If your bank offers an online bill paying service (many do), you can connect your account directly to your FanDuel casino account for easy transactions.
  • PayPal: A popular eWallet that's easy to fund, and easy to send money with.
  • eCheck/ACH: With your basic banking details you can essentially write a digital check to cover your deposit. eChecks are very fast, and efficient.
  • Bank wire: A little slow, but very steady. If you're moving a larger sum, it's hard to beat a wire.
  • FanDuel Casino Prepaid Play+ Card: Play+ cards are essentially a casino-centric, prepaid credit card. You can fund it through a variety of methods and use it for both casino deposits and withdrawals.
  • Credit/Debit Cards: Visa and MasterCard are likely a sure thing, though we'll cross our fingers for a more niche option like American Express or Discover. Notably, cards are typically only available for deposits.
  • Check: If you prefer an old school method, upon request you can withdraw by receiving a paper check from the casino. It's not a common deposit method, but is available in some instances.

It's worth mentioning that customers are often required to withdraw using the same method that they use for deposit. Similarly, not every available method will be an option for both deposits and withdrawals – so keep that in mind when funding your account.

As a top destination for DFS, sportsbook, and now casino, FanDuel Michigan customers will be able to share one wallet between all three verticals. This flexibility is a great convenience for customers.

FanDuel MI casino games

Online casinos typically start with a small group of games, and then use them as a building block to shape their overall catalog. Accordingly, the site will first go live with a rather limited group of game options, and expand it over time. Part of the beauty of online casino gaming is that there are often numerous versions of the same game, each with different rules, limits, and aesthetics.

FanDuel casino features all of the industry's major draws, such as:

Blackjack

As one of the biggest pulls to any casino, it is unlikely that FanDuel will launch its online site in Michigan without at least one version of the popular table game. Eventually users will have a wide variety of online blackjack tables to choose from, each with its own rules and graphical feel.

Slots

Slots work fantastically well on mobile devices and will make up a large portion of every online casino's overall game library. You should see dozens, if not hundreds of titles to choose from.

So which specific slots will land in Michigan? We can't say for sure, but many of the usual suspects should be present, like Gonzo's Quest, Dear or Alive, and of course… Divine Fortune. Jackpot slots, like DF, are amongst the most popular machines in the industry.

Roulette

Online casinos typically boast numerous roulette games that include American Roulette (0 and 00), but also French and European Roulette which are played with just a single 0 space. The fewer the zeros, the better the odds are for players. While it's unclear which, or how many versions will be available at launch, it's a safe bet that some form of Roulette will be present from the get-go.

Video Poker

Like the rest of the library, expect the video poker options for FanDuel MI to start small. FanDuel has a track record of offering Game King video poker games, which are generally the most sought after titles in this category. It's Pennsylvania casino has just a handful of video poker titles, though, in the more mature New Jersey market its partners spread plenty of choices, including: Game King Video Poker, Bonus Poker, Double Bonus Poker, Double Double Bonus Poker, Five Play Draw Poker, Jacks or Better, and more.

Live Dealer

Bring the complete casino experience home with you. Live Dealer games are produced in a professional studio and streamed over the internet. Participants are dealt real cards, in a real casino game that's officiated by a live dealer. You can interact with the table and even chat with the dealer who can respond in real time. It's as close as you're going to get without actually being there in-person.

Common Live Dealer games include blackjack, roulette, baccarat, craps, and video poker.

Fanduel Casino Log In

Live Dealer games will be coming to Michigan, though it may take a little time for them to get set up. Based on activity in other states it would be unlikely to see them available at launch. Expect a slightly delayed Live Dealer rollout that's well worth the wait.

FanDuel loyalty & rewards

FanDuel does not currently offer a casino rewards program in other states, thus it doesn't seem realistic to expect Michigan to buck the trend. While other online casinos like BetRivers are expected to debut with a robust loyalty program, we can't say the same for FanDuel.

Fanduel Casino Pa App

It's not unrealistic to assume that some sort of loyalty program is on the way. FanDuel offers a complex rewards scheme for its Daily Fantasy Sports players, it just hasn't made its way over to the casino side of the business yet. A Pennsylvania rewards system has been rumored for some time, but has yet to make an appearance.

Support

If you have questions, FanDuel support is there. As a legal, regulated online casino, Michigan gamblers will be able to easily contact support representatives for FanDuel casino through a variety of methods, including:

  • Email: sportsbook@fanduel.com is the support email address for Pennsylvania. We will update accordingly should it change for MI.
  • Live chat: Probably the easiest way to get a prompt reply from an informed member of the FanDuel team.
  • Phone: Once available we'll list the corresponding support phone number for FanDuel Michigan.
  • FAQ: Search through a detailed database of commonly asked questions.
